National Law University-Jodhpur (NLUJ) was established in 1999. The main objective of the institute is to impart the rich heritage of legal thought and tradition, simultaneously providing breadth and depth of instruction.
NLU Jodhpur Courses
The University offers unique five year integrated undergraduate programs i.e. B.B.A., LL.B.(Hons.); B.A., LL.B.(Hons.); to generate especially skilled global legal professionals. These integrated programs offer highly demanding honors courses in various facets of law such as Constitutional Law, Business Law, Trade Law, International Law, Criminal Law and Intellectual Property Rights Law.
B.B.A.,LL.B. (Hons)
BBA, LL.B., (Hons.) provides an integrated understanding of the interrelationship of Management Studies and Law in their entirety than in specified areas.
B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.)
Therefore, B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) has been designed in accordance with the changing nature of socio-economic conditions of the society. This is based on new developments in the wake of Liberalization and Globalization, which has led to the expansion of market-forces and the new kind of demand has come on the fore. Multidisciplinary integrated learning is truly the hallmark of this course.
LL.M. (Corporate Laws)
LL.M.(IPR)
This LL.M. program is offered in two streams viz.
- Corporate Laws
- Intellectual Property Rights
Duration: The Program shall comprise of two semesters spread over one year.
M.B.A. (Insurance)
(Four Semesters – 2 Years)
This program recognises the particular needs of management in the insurance sector, and therefore emphasises on various insurance subjects integrated with subjects such as management, finance, marketing etc.
M.B.A. (Insurance Risk Management)
(Two Semesters – 1 Year) – For Engineering Graduates only
Graduate Engineers have great opportunities in General Insurance Sector as their Engineering background is most useful for the industry in terms of risk inspection and underwriting of a risk. There is an ever increasing demand in the insurance and allied services sectors for Engineers with insurance background. In view of this need a short term program in insurance studies has been introduced exclusively for Engineering Graduates.
NLU Jodhpur Admission Process
Admission is done through CLAT
Ph. D. Program admission
Eligibility:
- Postgraduate degree in Law with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- A relaxation of 5% in eligibility criteria will be granted to candidates from SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy
- layer)/SAP Categories.
- Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. (However, before the completion of the admission procedure, the original mark sheet of the qualifying examination has to be produced to show that the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria.)
The admission will be through an entrance test and a personal interview.
UGC-NET and JRF qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test
but will have to appear for the Personal Interview.
The entrance test will seek to judge the abilities of the candidates in the fields of Subject Knowledge
and Research Methodology. The subject knowledge specific questions will be short-answer type as
well as multiple-choice questions.
