More About Rama Devi Women’s University
Rama Devi Women’s University is a state university for women and first women’s university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was founded as the Rama Devi Women’s College in 1964 in a small building in Bhubaneswar. The college was initially affiliated to Utkal University and shifted to its present campus on 1st January 1969. Rama Devi Women’s University was born on 30th May 2015 as an affiliating University and 46 Women’s Colleges under Utkal University came under the jurisdiction of the new University.

The University offers post graduate courses in 10 subjects as given below. The course duration is 02(Two) years consisting of 04 semesters. The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) is followed.

- Phil programme
The University offers M. Phil programme in subjects as English, Odia, Hindi, Home Science, Economics& Life Science. The course duration is 1 year & consists of 2 semesters.
Rama Devi Women’s University Admission Process
- Only Women candidates can apply.
- The minimum eligibility for admission to UG classes shall be10 +2 or equivalent
- A student who wishes to apply for Science Biology Honours (Botany/Zoology/Biotechnology) should have Biology at +2level.
- A student who wishes to apply for Honours (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science) should have Mathematics at +2 level.
- A student passing 10 +2 with Arts and Commerce can apply either for Arts (Hons) or Commerce (Hons).
Admission For M.Phil Courses
A consistently good academic career with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade at Masters level in the concerned subject for General Candidates.
- Phil is a full time course and as such a candidate who is employed cannot be admitted or allowed to continue in the programme unless she has been duly relieved and produces No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer.
