More About Tumkur University
Tumkur University, is a state university established in 2004 to cater to the educational needs of Tumakuru district where the majority of students hail from the rural background. Seventeen Departments of Postgraduate Studies and Research in the faculties of Science and Technology, Arts, Commerce and Management; two Constituent Colleges, the University College of Arts and the University College of Science; and more than eighty-six affiliated Colleges constitute the universe of the Tumkur University.

Bachelor of Vocational Studies (B.VOC)
Tumkur University is the first University to introduce B.Voc Courses. UGC have given approval to start Bachelor of Vocation in two subjects:
- Hardware Technology and Networking; and
- Visual and Applied Arts
Tumkur University Admission Process
- The selection for the UG courses will be done on the basis of academic merit.
- The admission to PG courses will be based on the counseling process.
- For MBA and MCA, the admission will be given directly through KEA, Bengaluru.
- For all the Ph.D. courses, the candidates have to appear for the entrance examination and personal interview.
