University of Mysore or Mysore University was established on July 27, 1916 and is the first University to be set up in Karnataka and the sixth oldest in India. The University of Mysore is offering graduate and postgraduate degree, diploma and certificate and Ph.D. programmes through 5 faculties. There are 63 PG Departments offering 76 Postgraduate Programmes with more than 1,20,000 UG, PG, M.Phil, and Ph.D students. Mysore University Admission Process
For admission to B.Arch and B.Plan courses, NATA score is mandatory.
B.Com-LL.B and BA-LL.B admissions are completely merit-based.
Admission to B.P.Ed program is also merit-based, but candidates have to pass a Physical Efficiency Test conducted by the university.
Admission to all the PG courses such as M.Tech, MA, M.Sc, M.P.Ed, M.Ed, M.Li.I.Sc, MSW, M.com and LL.M is offered on the basis of Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE).
Admission to MCA, M.Tech (CCT/ CST) and MBA (General) courses is offered as per the guidelines issued by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
M.Phil & Ph.D. admission is also based on an entrance exam conducted by the university followed by an interview. CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ GATE/ JRF or any other equivalent exam passed candidates are exempted from the entrance test.
