More About Burdwan University
The University of Burdwan was founded on 15th June 1960 by by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. It was part of his master plan to expand the scope of higher education beyond the metropolis.It started with six postgraduate departments and thirty undergraduate colleges in the districts of Purulia, Birbhum, Bankura, Burdwan and Hooghly. The University of Burdwan has emerged as one of the premier institutions of higher education in India.
Burdwan University also provides Distance mode of learning, incase one cannot complete his or her full time studies.
