More About Bankura University
Bankura University is a long cherished dream of the people of the region to have a University that caters to the higher learning needs of the local people. It was established in 2013 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt Mamata Banerjee and the Hon’ble Education Minister.Professor Deb Narayan Bandyopadhyay became the first Vice Chancellor of the University. It aims to disseminate higher learning of global standard keeping the indigenous flavour of the region alive. It is committed to research, learning and social commitment.
