UPSC CMS 2025 Notification Released: Online Applications Now Open

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the official notification and opened the online application process for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) 2025.

This year, UPSC will conduct the exam to fill approximately 705 vacancies, which are categorized as follows:

Category-I

  • Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Service: 226 vacancies

Category-II

  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in Railways: 450 vacancies
  • General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council: 9 vacancies
  • General Duty Medical Officer Grade-II in Municipal Corporation of Delhi: 20 vacancies

Candidates can submit their applications on upsc.gov.in and upsconline.gov.in until March 11, 2025. Before applying, all candidates must have their One-Time Registration (OTR) profiles created.

Eligibility Criteria & Application Fee for UPSC CMS 2025

  • Age Limit:

    • For posts in Category-II (Assistant Divisional Medical Officer, General Duty Medical Officer), candidates must be below 32 years old on August 1, 2025.
    • For Category-I (Medical Officers in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre), the upper age limit is 35 years on August 1, 2025.
    • Age relaxation is applicable as per UPSC rules for reserved category candidates.
  • Educational Qualification:
    Candidates must have passed both written and practical parts of their final MBBS examination. Those who have yet to appear or have appeared for the final MBBS exam may also apply, provided they can submit proof of passing by the specified deadline.
    Candidates who have not completed the compulsory rotating internship can still appear for the exam, but appointment will only be offered after completion of the internship.

  • Physical and Medical Standards:
    Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards specified for the UPSC CMS 2025.

  • Application Fee:
    The application fee is ₹200. However, candidates from SC, ST, PwBD categories and Female candidates are exempt from paying the fee.
