New Delhi: The Ministry of Education is set to announce the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 rankings today, September 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. The 10th edition of the rankings will be unveiled by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during a special event at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Once released, the complete list of top universities, colleges, and institutes across various categories will be available on the official NIRF website at nirfindia.org.
This year, institutions will be evaluated across 17 categories: Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, Law, Architecture and Planning, Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Innovation, Open University, Skill University, State Public University, and SDG or Sustainability.
The ranking methodology was developed by a Core Committee formed under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), focusing on broad parameters such as teaching, learning, and resources; research and professional practice; graduation outcomes; outreach and inclusivity; and perception.
Students, educators, and institutions are eagerly awaiting the rankings, which serve as a benchmark for academic and research excellence across India.
