CBSE Releases Subject-Wise Marks Bifurcation and Full Schedule for Board Exams 2026

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued the subject-wise marks bifurcation for the CBSE Board Exams 2026. Students appearing for Class 10 and Class 12 examinations can view the detailed notification on the official website, cbse.gov.in.

The bifurcation list outlines maximum marks for theory, practicals, project work and internal assessment. For Class 10 subjects, the theory component carries 80 marks, while internal assessment accounts for 20 marks. In Class 12, most subjects follow the 80-20 pattern for theory and internal assessment or practicals. However, certain subjects have a 70-30 or 60-40 split between theory and practical components.

CBSE has announced that the practical exams, projects and internal assessments for both Classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from January 1 to February 14, 2026.

The Class 10 board exams will take place from February 17 to March 10, 2026, starting with Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic and concluding with the French paper. Most exams will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, though some subjects will follow a 10:30 am to 12:30 pm schedule.

Similarly, the Class 12 board examinations will begin on February 17, 2026, and conclude on April 9, 2026.

This year, around 45 lakh students are expected to appear across 204 subjects from India and 26 countries. Candidates can visit the official CBSE website for further details.
