More About NEIGRIHMS
North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences commonly known as NEIGRIHMS was established by the Government of India on 12th January 1987. NEIGRIHMS aims to provide High Quality Super-Speciality Patient Care Services and also impart Post Graduate and Under Graduate, Basic and Advanced Medical Technology and Nursing Education.
NEIGRIHMS Courses
MBBS: The duration for MBBS course is for a duration of 4 years and 6 months as per Academic Calendar of Medical Council of India (MCI), followed by 1 year compulsory rotating internship programe.
Post Graduate Courses (MD / MS) in Anaesthesiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Microbiology, Pathology, Radiodiagnosis, Gen Surgery, Anatomy and Gen Medicine. The duration of the courses are of 3 years. The candidate joining M.D. / M.S. degree course is called Junior Resident (PG).
Super Specialty (Post doctoral) course Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology
B.Sc Nursing Course: The B.Sc Nursing Courses are of four years duration including six months Internship Programme.
NEIGRIHMS Admission Process
- For MBBS courses a competitive Entrance examination is usually held during the month of July for filling up of 18 (eighteen) NE open category seats.
- For PG courses candidates have to appear for the counseling at the Office of the Director, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong on their own expenses. The candidates in order of merit will be called and can exercise their choice of subject according to availability of seats.
- For Super Specialty (Post doctoral) course Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology candidates are required to sit for a written test carrying 80 marks of 90 minutes duration.
- For B.Sc Nursing Course candidates are required to sit for an entrance test.
