More About Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada
JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) Kakinada was originally ‘The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam’ in 1946 and became a constituent of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University on October 1972 through an act of legislature along with other sister institutions under the control of the then Director of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The college which became autonomous in 2003 was affiliated to Andhra University. The college provides hostel accommodation for nearly about 400 boys and 300 girls. Other amenities on the campus include Bank, Post-Office, dispensary, guesthouse, and play fields.
The University is known for its research and teaching quality and to achieve its aim the Department of Engineering collaborates with other disciplines, institutions, companies and entrepreneurs. Cross-linking themes are fostering new connections.

JNTUK Admission Process
A standard admission process is followed wherein candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics as major subjects and with minimum 50% of marks are eligible to apply. Selection will be on the basis of marks obtained in EAMCET (Engg, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test). Admission is either through EAMCET counseling or by enrollment with Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, Kakinada.
BTech Admission
The selection is based on the Engineering, Agriculture & Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by APSCHE.
MTech Admission
The candidates are admitted to the course on the basis of the score in GATE and ICET.
MBA and MCA Admission
The admission to the courses is based on the Integrated Common Entrance Test.
PhD Admission
The admissions are done on the basis of Written test and Personal interview. The minimum qualifying marks for the written test is 40% for OBC and Other Categories, for SC/ST is 25%. For the candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR/NET/SLET need to appear for only Personal Interview.
