More About IIT Tirupati
The foundation stone of Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati was laid in March 2015. It started functioning with the support of it’s mentoring institute, IIT Madras from the academic year of 2015-16. Presently, it is operating from a temporary campus on Tirupati – Renigunta Road.
IIT Tirupati Courses
The academic program was launched in August 2015 by admitting students in the B.Tech programme in the fields of Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The curriculum has emphasis on theoretical knowledge and practice oriented laboratories. Courses are planned to nurture innovation, creativity, quality, teamwork, communication skills, ethics and societal interaction. MS and PhD programmes will be started from academic year 2017-18.

The intake for each programme is 30 students. A total of 109 students joined the Institute in August 2015

Admission to Undergraduate Programmes in all the IITs is through JEE (Advanced). Candidates who qualify for admission through JEE (Advanced) can apply for admission to four-year B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) program at IIT Tirupati.
