More About North Orissa University
North Orissa University was established in 1998 to cater the higher education needs of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts of the northern part of Odisha. There are currently 92 colleges of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar Districts are affiliated to this University including three autonomous colleges and two Law colleges. The University at Sriram Chandra Vihar provides Post Graduate education in eleven subjects through eleven regular departments besides plans to open two more new regular courses viz. Geology and Material science in the second campus.

Depending upon the course that they have applied, candidates are either selected through entrance tests conducted by the respective departments or on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates in their last qualifying exam.
