More About West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training
The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA) was established in 2015 with Professor Dr Mita Banerjee as the first Vice Chancellor. The University aims to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of quality and trained teachers in every field. It serves as an umbrella institute for all the BEd and MEd colleges offering training and research in the field of education. It designs it syllabus keeping the Indian education system in mind but coordinates it with global changes and development. The West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education Planning and Administration wishes to contribute to the society through dedicated and sincere practice of Research, Education, Scholarship, and Exchange Programmes at the highest level.
WBUTTEPA Courses
BEd Program
Any candidate who has obtained 50% marks in Bachelor Degree /Master’s Degree in Science/Social Science / Humanities or Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks are eligible for admission in B.Ed Programme
MEd Programme
For admission to MEd programme a candidate must have passed B.Ed. / B.El.Ed. / D.El.Ed. with a UG degree/ B.A. B.Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. with atleast 50% marks.
WBUTTEPA M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission
The University offers Ph.D. and M.Phil program in Teacher Education with an intake of 15 candidates in each program. Minimum eligibility for both the research level program a Masters degree in Education or M.Ed. with aggregate of 55% marks as compulsory and any of the following: B.Ed. with 55% marks in aggregate and Honours degree in any subject Or four-year integrated Teachers Education Program (BA, B.Ed./ B.Sc. B.Ed.) with 55% marks or equivalent.
WBUTTEPA Admission Process
Depending upon the course that they have applied, candidates are either selected through entrance tests conducted by the respective departments or on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates in their last qualifying exam. Candidates are required to apply online by registering and logging on to the University’s official website.
