Sonipat: Ashoka University has begun accepting applications for the 16th cohort of its prestigious Young India Fellowship (YIF), a one-year postgraduate programme that marks its 15th anniversary this cycle. The Class of 2026–27 will include around 100 Fellows, each selected through a competitive and comprehensive evaluation process. All admitted candidates will be awarded scholarships funded by HDFC Bank.
Round 1 applications are now open and will close on January 19, 2026, with a priority deadline of December 8, 2025. Candidates who apply by the priority deadline will be considered earlier for interview shortlisting.
Launched in 2011, the YIF is recognised for its interdisciplinary curriculum and emphasis on leadership, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Starting this year, the programme will confer a Postgraduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Studies, further strengthening its academic depth. Fellows will undertake approximately 18 courses across diverse disciplines, participate in an intensive real-world project, and learn from leading faculty, visiting experts and a vast alumni network.
Reflecting on the programme’s growth, Founder and Chairperson Pramath Raj Sinha described the YIF as “a microcosm of what Ashoka has to offer.” Vice Chancellor Somak Raychaudhury noted that YIF graduates are contributing globally, with many excelling in their respective professions.
Over the past 14 years, nearly 2,400 alumni have completed the Fellowship and are now working across government, development, academia, research, corporate organisations, multilateral bodies, entrepreneurship, sports and the arts.
