Vijawada: Directorate of Government Examinations, Andhra Pradesh will declare the AP SSC Results 2023 on Saturday, May 6 at 11 am. Candidates who have appeared for the examination can check the results from the official website at bse.ap.gov.in. This year more than 6.5 lakh students have sat for the 10th class examinations conducted in 3,349 centers across the state.
Now the big question is, whether or not this year the overall pass percentage will increase. In 2022, the overall percentage was 64.02 per cent, which was a massive drop from 100 per cent in 2021 and 2020.
In the year 2021 and 2020, the SSC exams were cancelled and the students’ performances were calculated on the basis of their internal assessments during class 10, and their past year’s performances from classes 7 to 9 were also be taken into account. However, last year’s performance is still a massive decline from pre-Covid times as the overall pass percentage had not fallen under 90 per cent since 2016.
The overall pass percentage recorded In 2019 is 94.88 per cent. For boys that year was 94.68 per cent and 95.09 per cent for girls.
Even in 2018, the overall pass percentage was 94.48 per cent, when there was a marginal difference between the performance of girls and boys with the latter scoring 94.41 per cent (while girls scored 94.56 per cent).
In 2017, the overall pass percentage was recorded as the lowest in the past five years as 91.92 per cent, which was a decline from 93.26 per cent recorded in 2016.
